The program supports multiple-layer calendars, warns you of upcoming events with desktop reminders and offers includes several view options (daily, weekly or monthly).
Other features include import and export from/to iCal, a built-in backup utility and an embedded search engine to quickly locate events. The only drawback to VueMinder Calendar Lite, in my opinion, is the lack of compatibility with more alternative calendar tools, in order to be able to share and export data easily.
If you're looking for a handy, efficient calendar tool, even if it doesn't include all the bells and whistles of paid apps, VueMinder Calendar Lite is your program!

Superb product, great replacement for the deficient Window's 8 calendar..

Fantastic!.
I don't have Outlook, and I used to use Google Calendar but didn't like the fact that I couldn't change the Event font size to fit more information in. I was also looking for a calendar where I could combine an appointments diary and a weekly timesheet for work. I was searching for a calendar program that could satisfy my requirements, and had all but given up when I found VueMinder. VueMinder Lite meets all my needs, and more - and it's free! Pros:
Highly flexible. Many user-definable preferences. Backup system incorporated (and backup folder easily identified if this is required). The desk calendar view is brilliant - set the opacity low and it's enough to be serve a useful purpose without interfering with other items on the desktop - and it's easy to deactivate / reactivate anyway. I've checked all the comparisons, and the Lite version meets all my needs - I can't believe such a great program really is free. The support (Help and FAQs) is excellent.
Cons:
Its complexity may put some people off at first, but a little perseverance with the Help guides and FAQs pays off. I imagine it would be less of a learning curve to someone already familiar with other calendar programs - I'm not. More
